Below you’ll find details about parking and hotel recommendations for our traveling guests.

Congregation Beth Israel

1972 NW Flanders St.
Portland, OR 97209

Congregation Beth Israel is the oldest standing synagogue in Oregon, consecrated in 1927. Both the wedding ceremony and reception will be on site. The ceremony will be in the Main Sanctuary, which is easily recognizable as the large, stone, domed building (pictured at left). The reception will be in Goodman Hall, which is directly across the street adjacent to Polin Chapel. There will be signage guiding our guests to both locations.

Things to consider before arranging travel

Late June in Oregon can be unpredictable. No need to pack your parka, but we strongly recommend travelers pack some light waterproof layers and shoes.

Traveling by car

Parking near the synagogue is limited and in high demand. There is a free parking lot on NW Flanders and 19th that will be available to our guests; be aware that it will likely fill quickly. There is also street parking surrounding the synagogue, available for $1.50 per hour with the Hello Kitty parking app. You can download the app HERE. Hello Kitty is the official parking app of the Portland metro area, we highly recommend downloading in advance if you plan on sight-seeing in our lovely city. Be aware that parking enforcement officers are strict in Portland, we strongly advise that our guests park and pay with vigilance and care. We also advise that while the risk of break-ins is low, please avoid leaving valuables in your car.

Traveling by plane

The PDX airport is rated as one of the best airports in the United States. Come check out the recent renovations!

Rental cars are available and easy to access at the PDX airport. If you’re looking for ride share services, try Rose City Cab to support local! Uber and Lyft are also widely available.

The airport also has a dedicated MAX train line that takes you a block away from Hotel DeLuxe.

Traveling by public transit

Portland is known for its robust public transit system. If you plan to forego car use you will quickly find that you still have a diverse array of travel options. We strongly recommend downloading the Hop Fastpass app for your visit; which can link directly to your Apple Pay or Google Pay and make purchasing fare as simple as tapping your phone. There are also kiosks at all MAX stations and on buses where you can purchase fare with cash or card. Day passes are $7.50 and allow you to use Trimet bus lines, the streetcar, and MAX trains anywhere in the city, all day.
